Our figs are green and have done very well this year. I guess because of all the rain last Spring. We have them with prosciutto. You captured this one so well. Everything but the luscious smell.

Delightful study. Figs and soft cheese sounds yummy and reminds me of visits to my son's house in France where we picked figs and walnuts from their garden. I assume the piece is in watercolour - lovely washes and tones.

However I'm sure they will have ripe figs in France.........

These look good enough to eat. Figs are one of my favorite and what a great idea to serve gorgonzola with them.

I saw your figs online and commented, but visiting your blog I am so impressed with all of your other work, your collograph, mototype, and prints. Subtle and beautiful! I've made you a favorite, and am adding a link to my blog so I won't miss any more!

Yum! I have just bought some hugely expensive figs and now I'll have to go out again as you've reminded me how well they go with Gorgonzola!! Lovely painting!

Mine are green figs and I have never painted them. Now seeing yours and how you have captured the sweet juiciness I think I will stick with just eating them. Lovely work. Really!

Your figs are beautiful...looks SO succulent. We enjoyed some last night and they looked exactly like yours...and were they delicious!I bought some grapes from Italy too, just as delicious...don't you want to paint us some of your big Italian grapes? You're making my mouth water again for all these fruits..and they have so much sugar...sigh..

I grew up in Naples and areas of Puglia and if there is anything I miss about Italy, it is the figs, on which I used to stuff myself, since we had many trees growing on our 3 acres. We also dried them for the winter. Did I say I LOVE figs?

I so admire that you had the b...s to do what you wanted to do, and moved to Italy. Even though I spent many years there and still have a house in Puglia that is more and more in need of repair, I can't quite get up the nerve to pack up and go.

Will return to read more of your adventures and to look at more of your beautiful artwork.
