May 2005 - Two Australians moved to Tuscany where they planned to live for two years. Two weeks later their dogs, Snowy and Dermott, arrived. Seven years and a property purchase later, they're still here.

Fresh?
EDM Weekly Drawing Challenge #112 - FRESH
This little exercise was supposed to loosen me up for the 'big' watercolour I've been putting off. Ha!
Not sure if it still qualifies as a drawing - even though it started as a drawing. And is it 'Fresh' or is it 'Flesh'? There is a hint of violence about about the 'blood ' and the knife. What do you think?

This is really wonderful. I really like how you kept the peeled skin in and I like the overall composition. Great work!
Ohh, very fresh and juicy. Great color and yes, I think this definately qualifies.
This is JUST AMAZING! Really nicely done! Wow.
I love it - especially the way the peel and slices echo each other's shape!
Yes, I like this too. The colours are wonderfully rich, and it looks juicy and sweet. Must have taken some skill to peel it like that too!
Robyn, It looks like you learned to peel oranges just like an Italian. This came out great. The peel looks so textured. Before we went to Italy, my husband had never seen a blood orange. I should have warned him because after he peeled one and saw the color inside, he wouldn't eat it. I'll be waiting for the larger painting.
Oh Robyn, this is just perfectly gorgeous! I love the bright colors, and the beautiful contrast of the dark shadows inside the peel. Exquisite.
Great drawing with lovely colors and yes, I agree, it looks real juicy!
Well done
Ronell
One word - wow!!
What a wonderful lot of responses to wake up to. I'm so encouraged - thank you one and all for taking the time to comment and the generosity of your feedback.
I love the vivid colorings! They certainly freshen my tired eyes. One final word: wow! :)
Gorgeous!
HWEM here. May I have my knife back now? Please?
Me thinks HWEM should watch his back :)
Very pretty drawing/painting. The colors are just great.
personally, I like the flesh appeal of this sketch! It is a great composition and I like the raw feel of it. I still have blood oranges on my tree! Aren't they wonderful!!!!
Luci, Casey, Emma, Marta - great comments and thanks so much for looking.
Marta - I'm still green that you have a blood orange tree ;)

as I child I wouldn't eat them - the name put me off!
very nice - and you'll love oils I'm sure

Vivien - Great! Thank you. If my oil paintings are a fraction as beautiful as yours, I will be very happy.
