Chiesa di Mammi - Watercolour Tuscany

Watercolour W&N Cotman 10" x 7" sketchbook

I took the high road for the first time today - a return trip of 5.4 Km, half of which was directly up hill! I've been walking every morning this week as usual but not sketching, so I felt I owed a sketch to our Sketchercise Ning.

The little church of Mammi (above) is high in the hills above our town. It was a demanding hike for what should have been my day of rest!

The view was certainly worth the effort though.

Castiglion Fiorentino and surrounding olive groves

Closer to home.

Your picture is just gorgeous Robyn. I love all the photos too. I wish I could draw, but I am sadly lacking in that talent. Perhaps I could walk and take photos instead!

This is such a pretty watercolor. What a beautiful area you have to take walks in! It looks like the weather is perfect, too.

I love seeing scenery pictures like those. Its really neat to see the differences in locations and sometimes the similarities too :)

I'm crying in my beer (not really) that the economy's tanking forced me to cancel my trip to you and Tuscany. This little painting really hits hard. Oh, you lucky woman. Oh, you wonderful painter.

ooooh, very nice watercolour. I get a real sense of being there, feeling the heat of the sun. Lovely.

And often difficult treks are rewarded at the end by wonderful views. Love the photos of the area.

Super job on this!!!! I love the lights and shadows. I'm glad you're continuing the sketchercise! I've enjoyed seeing what you find to sketch on your walks.

I enjoyed sketchercising on my recent travels but here at home; it's just too hot to walk. Lovely little watercolor you have from your hike!

Thank you everyone, although I suspect it is Tuscany that deserves the credit.

Now I'm going to call in on all your blogs which I have been sadly neglecting lately.

Thanks for leaving your kind and encouraging words on my blog about my little dog Gigi. She is a trooper.
