Pears in Bowl

watercolour 10"x 7" Cartiera Magnani HP

You can't say I didn't squeeze the last drop of creative juice out of these pears. Now one has been devoured, so that's the end of the series, I guess.

Lovely colours Robin - very subtle.

This is a wonderful painting - again I really love the contrast between the pears and the light ethereal background and container. I hope you'll frame this one!

Lovely painting! I love the colors of the pears, and the highlights you captured on the one on the right. Yummy!

I haven't been able to eat uncooked pears for years, but you've reawakened my memories of their taste with your magnificent painted pear series.

Lovely painting; I hope they taste as good as you've made them look.

I haven't been blogging much lately but a visit to your blog is always a treat. I love the delicate way the plate shows and the subtle stronger color of the pears.

Your lovely comments are much appreciated. This daily process of trying to improve would not be nearly as enjoyable or rewarding without the support of you all, and your tireless encouragement.
I can't imagine how lonely it must have been for the likes of me before blogging. And I'm sure I'm not the only one who gets so much out of it.

Ciao Robyn! Che bella pintura! This is my favorite! It seems like you took the best of the previous paintings and put it all together with this one! I also agree it shouold be framed! by the way, Che e Pecorino Sardo?

Marta - Many thanks. It was a good exercise for me to keep painting those pears - I understand now why other people do it. Pecorino Sardo is a delicious aged sheep's cheese from Sardinia.

Hi. All your works are just so brilliant. Lot to learn from them for me as a beginner.

Raghu - Thank you for your lovely comment. I'm touched. I also enjoyed finding your blog. I think you have a real talent for watercolour and the more confidence you have in painting your own subjects the more rewarding you'll find it.
