A Tree for All Seasons
I tried to paint my favourite persimmon tree as she is in the winter mist but I was seduced by colour, probably because of all the monotones I've been doing as part of the Van Gogh Project. I may try for the misty version at some later date. This is more pretty than elegant, I'm afraid.

I love this painting... it reminds me of softly layered japanese woodcuts. Very beautiful use of color temperature and value to create depth.
Belinda, you can't imagine how my heart lifts to hear you say that. I love the strong values in all your work and am constantly inspired by it. I'm now studying the wonderful printmaking of Hiroshi Yoshida in the hope of strengthening my watercolours. Would love to try printmaking too, but life is short!
