The sunflowers in the garden continue to delight, mostly for the birds they are attracting. My watercolour effort feels strangely lifeless. I was happier with the quick sketches I made seeking the spirit of sunflowers.

Those are the best sunflower portraits I've seen....
I love the variety in these. Sunflowers always make me think of Italy--I saw miles of them there, and you captured their liveliness--I love this final flower--so spontaneous!

I also meant to comment that I like the way you made this last one look as if the seeds are almost 3-D here!
I vote for the pen and crayon sketch.....I love the movement of the lines.......it vibrates!
