Flagged!

When I look up to the back of our garden today, I keep imagining there is a medieval army about to breach the wall!

The flags went up last night for the Festa Medievale Biancazzurra. It's an annual spectacular with food, wine, music and medieval madness.

What a beautiful garden - great view!!!
what tower/castle is that?

Anastasiac- The fort is on top of the hill in the centre of our town - you see it for miles. It was re-built by the Perugians in the 14th century. Archeological excavations have unearthed parts of an Etruscan city wall 4th c.BC. At night we have fantastic garden lighting with orange spots firing up the wall and the tower a brilliant gold.

Great view up through your garden! If I were there I'm sure I would have painted the staircase and all the flowers about a dozen times. Enjoy the Festa Medievale. Ciao!

Joan - Thank you. I've never sketched this view of the steps. I do sketch the tower a lot though.
