May 2005 - Two Australians moved to Tuscany where they planned to live for two years. Two weeks later their dogs, Snowy and Dermott, arrived. Seven years and a property purchase later, they're still here.
Sad I've been away from blogging and missed so much but coming back to this wonderful tonal sketch at the top was a real treat. I let out a real 'oh wow' as it appeared before me. Something very very special about this one Robyn. I agree with Charlene above but at the same time quite jealous you have such a wonderful part of the world to live and paint in, but thanks for all the great glimpses.
Thanks, Cathy. I hope you are getting our good weather up your way too.
Charlene - There's lots more delights, I just need to get better at sketching the more complicated ones.
Joan - Thank you too. I was happier with the ink washes than the ink/watercolour.
Candy - LOL, you can't imagine just how much does go wrong. :)
Joan - Such a sweet comment. I am amazed but delighted that you like that sketch. I do feel guilty that I don't take all the sketching opportunities I have here.
How did I miss these the other day? I was just thinking about you... tapping my mental foot with impatience and wondering when you'd put some sketches up.
Ah! I can relax now, and enjoy the Italian countryside through your eyes. The first piece makes me want to wander around the back of the buildings and up into the hills....
Your sketches are truly beautiful lately robyn...I've seen them(some) over at SC and really...you have a looseness that is beautiful, and it still says "Robyn" very much...and "Florence"...and "Toscane"...I love it!
Ummm, so cool and fresh. I imagine that it's not so cool and fresh out there now? It's really hot and dry again here. Not fun for me and my struggling new garden, drat it.

I like all these sketches Robyn, but particularly the first one.
I'm so glad you decided to go and live in Tuscany - it gives us all a glimpse of the delights that seem to be tucked into every corner.
Lovely sketches, Robyn!! I like the sense of depth to the top one, but also love the ink washes in the other two.
The sketches are beautiful. As for your larger work, everything you do is so lovely that I can't imagine anything going wrong!

Lovely, Robyn! That lovely loose foreground in the first one is really special.
Very wonderful sketches! I like the first one most because of its colors and composition.

Hope all is well, dear Robyn.
How do you manage to do such beautifully detailed sketches during a walk? These are lovely, Robyn.
I love your sketches, they bring to life the area you live in.
