Flying Pictures, Different Strokes Book

Remember our Flying Pictures Sketchbook exchange last year? Well Lindsay Olson has organised an exhibition of our books in her local library in Chicago.

To coincide with the exhibition I've created a book of my contribution to all seven of the sketchbooks.

Flying Pictures Book

I'm hoping this first tentative step into virtual publishing may inspire our other Flyers to make their own book.

P.S. It's been a nightmare trying to create this book. First I tried in ISSUU and my PDF upload failed - days were wasted, so I decided to try scribd.com to test my PDF. FANTASTIC. It worked! First time! But as I'm new to this virtual publishing world may I ask you to choose 'BOOK' in the 'view mode' window at the bottom in order to view it as it was created.

This really is a wonderful collection, Robyn, beautifully presented in the 'full screen' Book view scribd.com produces. I'm really glad you persevered with the publishing adventure.

lucky me! I got to see most of these IRL!
Brilliant post and I think you ought to do it on the FPP blog too!

What a lovely idea to compile all your paintings in a super little book like this! Your watercolours are little gems, Robyn! I had a good browse through the Flying Pictures blog too - wonderful art. I know what fun these projects can be as I am taking part in one now and am now inspired to make my own little book when it's complete. Thanks!

Robyn - this is delightful and so worth all that effort to make it through to the 'book' stage.

Thanks also for introducing us all to the wonders of scribd!

Robyn--what fun it was to revisit your wonderful Flying Pictures as a book. I loved the zoom capacity and opened some way up to marvel at how vibrant the colors remained, even when expanded like that.

I agree that it should be on Flying Pictures, too. Now I am waiting to see if the the rest of the Flying Crew will also make books.

I feel so privileged, having seen every one of them in person! They al scared me to death because of the high standard they set, and I had to follow right after. Great idea, Robyn!

It was interesting to see this different 'take' on our books by looking at one persons contributions.

Don't they look great :>D it was such a fun project to be part of, with such a lovely set of people.

Oh, my gosh, Robyn! This is great. I love your book of contributions. I selected the "book view" and it worked perfectly. I hadn't joined the blogging world yet when all of you put this project together. Brilliant idea! I loved reading about the presentation and current show. I really laughed when I read about the artist throwing journals out the window from the second story of her house for the photos for the banner. Clever! You and the other Flyers are amazing.

Thank you all, you are so kind particularly since I have been such as bad blogging friend of late but I'm trying to get back to that most enjoyable process of visiting all your blogs.

Lin - Yes, you can print this. You should make one of your Italian sketches.

Toni - I was pleased to see the book arrive in the emailed blog. And congratulations on your etsy shop.
