May 2005 - Two Australians moved to Tuscany where they planned to live for two years. Two weeks later their dogs, Snowy and Dermott, arrived. Seven years and a property purchase later, they're still here.
Here are a few recent sketches. My heart isn't in it at present and I've been greatly tempted to tear pages out of sketchbooks. Posting them here will keep me honest :)
Good for you, Robyn.... there are a lot of famous admonitions to keep working, even when "it's not working." Can't think of a single one at the moment... so you'll just have to do with me!
These are wonderful. Good for you for sketching and posting even when your heart isn't in it. I'm so sorry to hear that Snowy is not doing well! Our animals are such a large part of our lives, aren't they?
I admire you for working through it. Your disappointing is, at this point, my good day (art-wise) but I am sorry about Snowy - hope he feels better (and you too).
I say if you are disappointed in your sketches you should rip them out... but only if you send them to me. Because I think they are lovely. Your watercolors always look effortless.
I hope Snowy is doing better. Keep up with the sketching. Art can help us get through any tough situation.
Well, I'm glad you didn't tear out, now we can at least appreciate them...and if the urge hits you again necxt time to start tearing, let me know, so I can be close to pick up! Just keep going...we love your out and about sketches...soon you will again too! Ronell

I would love to have your "disappointing pages" in my sketchbook!
Shirley - thank you. Maybe I'm just out of sorts - our little dog, Snowy isn't doing well and maybe that is colouring my view of everything.
love the sketch of the ruined house. very old look to it which goes well with the subject

I read "retired" house at first! It's all this grit in my eyes!
And I'm sorry to hear about Snowy.

Oh, I think these are just beautiful, Robyn! Don't tear them out!! They're lovely!
I see nothing wrong with these. I really like them. Hope Snowy feels better soon.
I'm sorry to hear about Snowy.
I like the rosehips and the ruined house. Personally when I'm tempted to tear pages out, they often don't seem so bad when I go back later.
