Everything's Coming Up Poppies

Yes, I know I should have painted this instead of photographing, but it was a quick stop at the side of the road.

Yesterday was Art Group and my second session with oil paints. I have stopped whining, the 'grease' is beginning to look like a painting. Delightful group of artists so I am really feeling blessed.

Wow! What beautiful flowers! All of our flowers are trying to hide back in the ground since it got cold again. Our temperatures are running about 15 degrees below normal. I am envious that you are in full blown Spring.

I'm glad to hear that the oil painting went better this week. But make sure you never leave watercolors behind. You really have a knack for them. The flowers in your last post are just beautiful!!

These are so nice to see. When I was in Italy I was hoping to find a field of poppies somewhere, but only kept finding a few at the edge of the road while I was driving. On my last day when I was going from Rome to the airport on the train, we passed this HUGE field of poppies...too fast for me to get my camera for a photo. Thanks for showing us these, and I hope to see them painted soon.

Aren't they stunning. We arrived at the end of May and I had just missed the show. Last year they were late and I was back in Sydney to ship our furniture - so this was my first true field of poppies. I'm glad they do the same thing for you all.

Robyn, I’m glad to hear that you had a fine Wednesday and the “grease” is looking better. I was rather anxious to hear how the day went, and had been checking your blog.

Wow, those poppies really steal the show don’t they … with their bold and brazen coloring. Thank you for taking the picture and sharing it with us.

I wouldn't mind being a poppy, everybody always raves about them, just like cosmos and they are actually wild...I would love to be wild and raved about!
Glad to hear the grease is turning into the potter's clay...hope we'll get to see the result Robyn?

Ronell - Wild is up to you but 'raved about' - consider it done!
Luci - Thank you. I wouldn't hold my breath for the first oil painting.
