Your monotype is wonderful---strong composition and lovely textures. Wish I could see it in person! Of course I hope that isn't the case.

Pat - You are very sweet since I've probably burdened you far too much with my printmaking dramas.

Vivien - Thank you - you can see by my including photos that I don't feel I've yet done the kaki justice.

Cathy - Thanks. The gouache does dry but prints well on to the soaked and blotted paper. I painted a very thin layer of detergent on the plate and let that dry before painting to help the transfer. There was still quite a lot of ghost on the plate when I'd finished.

This was all printed at once but I am considering doing the next one in stages. I'll have to find a way to fix the paper to the plate for registration purposes. Then there is the problem of keeping the paper damp. Maybe my linocut jig will be useful.Robyn Sinclairhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01663604160297996421noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14082946.post-91335828128882307322009-12-04T08:21:09.845+01:002009-12-04T08:21:09.845+01:00Sorry - another question... did you do this all in...Sorry - another question... did you do this all in one printing 'pull', or background then foreground?Cathy Gatlandhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05004501411878060668noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14082946.post-30243330726616903902009-12-04T08:16:28.438+01:002009-12-04T08:16:28.438+01:00This turned out well Robyn! How do you not have the gouache drying before you print it - is the paper damp?
