Underneath the Arches

This 16C Loggiato is attributed to Vasari and dates back to 1513. It houses, on the left, the bar where we have breakfast each morning and, on the right, a great little Pizza restaurant. The walls are decorated with ancient coats of arms. The arches at the back provide a gorgeous view of the Val di Chio.

Didn't know Vasari was an architect as well as a painter and writer. This looks like any idyllic spot; it's certainly a lovely drawing.

I want to come and visit!

I can see you're going to have to develop a list of suitable apartments/villas and B&Bs/small hotels in the area if you continue like this.

Thanks Dave. Vasari, like many of the masters, was into everything! I fall back on this knowledge when I'm confronted with the fact that I'm so unfocused ;)

So Katherine - would you prefer a continental breakfast or a sketcher's picnic?

Robyn, I noticed these on the EDM blog and thought oooh how lucky she is with that view. Now you say you see this every day? my my...lucky gal. You have captured a wonderful depth and spacial understanding, I could walk right through the space. I havent' been able to comment at WC much, but your new sketches are wonderful. Glad to see you out and about enjoying your surroundings.

This is a lovely sketch, and you did a gret job on all those arches. Nice shadows too. What a nice view to see every day.
